Alrighty then- another tag! (cos, obviously, I’m still really behind on those ) Thank you to Olivia Emily @ Libroliv for tagging me to do this- she’s awesome so you should definitely go check her out!
Now on with the questions:
- Who is the best kick-ass character?
Celaena Sardothien obviously. She is so kickass in all her forms.
Invisible

- Which character do you most dislike?
America from The Selection series, because she’s everything I hate in a YA heroine. Just thinking about her gets my blood boiling. I mean she’s a two-timing irritant, and yet simultaneously one of the most sanctimonious heroines I’ve ever had the displeasure of reading. Ughh.
Invisible

- If you could date any fictional character who would it be and why?
Well cos I’m just feeling nostalgic, how about Sirius Black? (And yes I still think of him as alive- I’m still in denial) (And no I do not mean Gary Oldman)
Invisible
Invisible
- If you could change a character in any way what would it be?
That’s a really hard question- maybe I’d make it so the Darkling from the Grisha trilogy didn’t turn out to be straight up evil- because I think he had potential to be more interesting than he turned out to be.
Invisible
Invisible
- What character to you made all the wrong choices that didn’t add anything to the book?
Like my lovely nominator, I’m gonna go with Clary Fray as well, because she makes some weird decisions towards the end of the series that just made me go “what??” I mean the series still ended well, so I didn’t completely hate her, but I did find myself questioning her more and more as the story progressed. Also she’s on my mind more now that Shadowhunters has started…
Invisible
- Which character was the best villain whom you love to hate?
Sometimes I feel like they just don’t make villains like they used to, which is why I’m going with Lydia from Armadale. She’s a straight up witch from hell and I remember hating her with all my heart when I read that book
invisible
invisible
- Favourite side-kick character with the most heart?
How can it be anyone other than Samwise Gamgee? He’s the real hero of Lord of the Rings in my opinion. I mean just look at him…
- What is your favourite fictional romantic relationship?
Ahh I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone, so I’m not going to use a modern book (like Carry On…). How about Emma and Mr Knightley from Emma– everyone knows how that turns out, right? And if you don’t, it’s not a spoiler cos it’s Austen- and everyone knows that in Austen the main character *always* gets the guy.
invisible
- What character did you think was the strongest?
Hmm I’m gonna go with Katniss Everdeen, because she’s one of the strongest characters in YA literature. Again, just look at that face- no one can disagree with a pic of Jennifer Lawrence in all her Hunger Games glory.
- Best protagonist?
I’m going to go with Raskolnikov from Crime and Punishment, cos he’s a proper nutcase, but he’s really fascinating as a character.

Awesome- that was fun- I tag everyone for this one! Yup- if you saw this you now have to do it or the martians will come and force you to list all your favourite characters alphabetically… or something…
So get on it! Or you could just be lazy and tell me your answers in the comment section- that would work too- it would definitely placate the martians (god this is getting weird…)
EW America. Totally agree with you on that… she was just so impulsive, and annoying, and she would get mad at everyone for everything, even when the situation was really her fault!

exactly- I hated everything about her! ughhh Yes- she kept screwing up- but somehow she blamed everyone else for it. Also she kept getting mad at the prince for not choosing her, even though she wouldn’t make up her mind to be with him- it was bizarre!

She was just INFURIATING. UGH. It’s like she was incapable of thinking about others or thinking about the effects of her actions. But I couldn’t stop reading those books because they were just so addictive!! Like, in a way, I think I kind of liked getting mad at her?

yeah me too- I also read them all- which is probably a bit ridiculous but whatever. You’re right- they’re totally addictive. Oh yeah, me too- I think she’s one of the best characters to love to hate

I’ve read them all too! And I’m eagerly awaiting the next book, even though I’m sure it’ll frustrate me just as much 🙂

I completely agree with #2! I couldn’t stand America either! Or the whole series in general. It’s like literally every.single.YA cliché put together in one series.
And I loved your picks for #7! I’m really glad that the fandom recognizes Sam’s actual role in the whole trilogy! He did what had to be done and protected Frodo by all costs!
I think you meant the novel Emma when you talked about Mr.Knightley and Emma, right? I do love both novels by Jane Austen!
Great post! ❤

Yes! He’s one of my absolutely favourite things about the series!!
Yup course 🙂 Me too!!

That The Mask picture is awesome, but this is a pretty cool tag! I haven’t read most of these books but I’m really interested in Armadale, and I agree with you – they don’t make good villains anymore.

haha thanks! Yeah exactly- I miss the villains you can really sink your teeth into and just really hate! And they also used to have such great motives! Usually they make them with too many redeeming features these days or they just don’t make sense

Yes! That’s the problem! Nowadays villains are too nice or stupid. The older ones were so original and just super evil, now everything is so romanticized it makes me sick. Your words are very, very true 😦

Exactly- and they’re bound to tell you all their dastardly plans if you just ask them nicely. Completely agree! Thanks very much 🙂

You’re welcome! It’s a shame too, because people who don’t read classic novels wouldn’t know a true villain.

yeah exactly!! That’s why everyone should read more classic novels :p

Perfect choices across the board. What a fun tag. I totally dug that you chose Katniss as the strongest.

Excuse me but I wholeheartedly disagree with you on number one. I can go on a whole rant on why that person is not a bad ass but I won’t take up too much of your time but switch number one to number two and we can be friends again….lol
Also I have to agree with your number two choice. I didn’t read The Selection but I’ve heard nothing but bad things about that particular character. Thank goodness I’ve dodged that bullet.
P.S. I need to get to your tags. I’m so behind.

haha I really don’t mind- you can have your say- I’m perfectly open to listening (there’s a strong chance it won’t change my mind, cos basically I’ll just be like “she’s awesome anyway”) but I’m happy to hear what you have to say 🙂
yes you most certainly have!
PS Don’t worry- take your time- I’m phenomenally behind on tags too

OMG! I totally agree America was so annoying, I actually couldn’t even pull myself through the whole series!

Lots of recommendations on this blog, which is perfect as I am just finished reading a Michael Dibdin crime novel and I’m on the look for something new. Did someone mention something about a book called Carry On…..😉
