So anyone that knows me is probably aware that I am obsessed with Game of Thrones. Like so obsessed that I’ve been rewatching the first five seasons in preparation for season 6 coming out! (On April 24th- ahh it’s so soon!!!) No doubt when that happens you’ll probably hear me squealing all about the new episodes- but until then, I thought I’d create a Game of Thrones tag to help everyone get in the mood!
And yes- this is my first tag- so I sincerely hope this works and you all like it!
Rules:
- Mention the creator Orang-utan Librarian (me) so I can see all your your answers
- Answer all the questions
- Tag people and keep it going!
Without further ado, I bring you the Ultimate Game of Thrones Tag- in three parts!
Part 1: Book Questions
“We do not sow”- A book you would not be willing to invest in
I had heard quite a lot of bad things before I read Fifty Shades of Grey, so I was definitely not willing to buy a copy. And once I borrowed a copy and read it, there was no way I was willing to spend a penny on the sequel!
“Fire and blood”- A book that produced strong emotions in you
Since Game of Thrones is a fantasy book, I think I ought to recommend The High Lord-it’s the last in Trudi Canavan’s Black Magician trilogy and oh-my-goodness- what an emotional rollercoaster this was! It had me squealing with delight one moment and sobbing the next! Even though the first one’s hard to get into, I highly recommend this series!!
“Winter is coming”- Your favourite winter read
Little Women– because it is ridiculously heart warming and has loads of lovely Christmasy scenes to make you feel in the mood for winter!
“Family. Duty. Honour.”- A book about strong family ties
I just love the sisterly bonding in Pride and Prejudice. I feel like I don’t talk about it nearly enough!
“Growing strong”- A book you had low expectations of but that grew on you
This time I’m gonna go with The Young Elites, because I really wasn’t a huge fan of Marie Lu when I started reading it. Her Legend series had started out quite well for me, but by the end I felt like it fizzled out and I lost interest. But this book was pleasantly surprising- in more than one way!
“Ours is the fury”- A book that made you furious
Talon has pretty much everything I hate in a YA novel: the special snowflake trope, love triangles and insta romance. Add to that the fact that its silly, lazy lore ruined my favourite mythical creatures (dragons), and I was left fuming!
“Unbowed. Unbent.Unbroken.”- A book you have unwavering devotion to
That’s easily The Hobbit– because I will always be in love with this book more than anything.
“A Lannister always pays his debts”- A book you feel indebted to
Yes, I know that’s not technically the official words for the Lannisters- but I’ve always preferred the unofficial Lannister words. As for the book I feel indebted to, I’m gonna be super clichéd here and go with Harry Potter– because it was the first big book I ever read and inspired my love of reading. I’m forever indebted to it.
Part 2: Fan Theories
Who do you want to win Game of Thrones?
I’m gonna be a bit cheeky here and choose two people- Dany and Jon- either together or on their own. And I’d quite like to see Tyrion as Hand of the King too- although I think a happier ending for him would be for him to find someone nice and retire to Casterly Rock.
Who do you think will make it to the end and who do you think will die?
Okay, so I’m going to be really thorough with this one. Cersei’s gonna die, Jaime might live, Arya will live (this is in part wishful thinking, but also George R R Martin has promised that she’ll make it to the last book), Sansa will make it to the end, as will Bran and Rickon, Jon’s gonna make it since (*SPOILER*) he can’t die twice, lately I’ve been feeling like Dany is one of the main characters that will die (though it’ll kill me if she does!), Tyrions’s gonna make it (he has to!), Stannis will die, *all* the Freys will die (based on my illogical logic that people get what’s coming to them), Boltons will die (totally wishful thinking) and Littlefinger’s days are numbered. I have a feeling I was a bit liberal with letting all my favourite characters live there… Ah well, George R R Martin’s not gonna be as kind as I am.
Did I miss anyone out?
Part 3: My Game of Thrones
Would you win or die?
Die- let’s be honest, there’s no way I’d survive Westeros- I mean if the psychos with swords don’t get me within five minutes, there’s always greyscale and white walkers!
What house are you?
So let’s end this on a bit more of a fun note. I’m using this quiz (cos I love it- it’s got the most hilarious descriptions of houses) and the result I got was TARGARYEN- yayy!! This is what the quiz said about me:
“You’re a little intense, aren’t you? You’re proud, confident, and bold, sometimes too much so – which is understandable, considering you have centuries of dragon-fueled monarchy in your family history. Just…listen to advice sometimes, OK? And keep an eye out for any mental instability, you may not have the, ahem, *healthiest* genetics.”
Alrighty then! I really enjoyed that- hope you liked it and let me know if you want me to create more tags in the future.
I tag:
This is a brilliant tag! Love how you combined the typical tag in part one with the more personal questions. So well done!
Ah, I love GoT, but it gives me heartache. I so hope you’re wrong about Dany being a major death.. I love her and want her on her throne as well..
The new episode will be torture though. I can only watch GoT on monday due to time difference, but that week I’m gone for five days on a trip with work 😥 That being said, I hope s6 will be better than the last cause I found 5 to be very lacklustre. Partly due to the brilliance of the series up till that point, but it just didn’t deliver.. Dark Sansa was such a wasted opportunity..

Thank you so much!! I’m glad you liked it!!
I know what you mean- well my first instinct is that she’s gonna live and rule westeros forever- but I feel like one of my favourite characters is gonna die- it’s just a question of which one…
Oh definitely- me too!! I’ll have to avoid social media till I watch it!!
So did I to be honest- there were too many bits they didn’t do well (like the sand snakes and dorne) and bits that felt too fanfic-y for me (like Dany meeting Tyrion) and you’re right they wasted the direction Sansa was taking- but unlike a lot of people I do get why they took it in that direction. Maybe they’ll be more of an opportunity for dark sansa in the future!

Thanks for the tag! This is really intriguing, although I will admit I didn’t read your answers to the middle section as I haven’t finished reading the published books yet and don’t want to risk any spoilers!

LOL!! I’m so glad for this tag! Thanks for tagging me. Awesome questions! I don’t watch the shows but I read the books so I can’t wait to answer these. After rereading the second book, I began to think Tyrion would make a good king. Maybe he could get the throne. But really, Dany and Jon all the way for it.

Yay!!!! So glad you like it!!! Excellent!!! It works for both 🙂 I love Tyrion and would definitely make him king, but I don’t see everyone following him as king (but they could be convinced to let him be hand!) Definitely!!! 😀

Yea I agree. I think he made a good hand before.

Yeah he really did!

Oh my goodness yes. I love this. I so want Dany and Jon together too.. I mean ICE AND FIRE. COME ON. And Tyrion is my favorite and would be a fantastic ruler but I laughed at your comment about him because yes, that really would be a much happier ending for him. Poor guy!

Thank you!!! I know- I feel the same way!!! He definitely would- he’s proved more than anyone that he’s capable of ruling- the only thing that stopped him was his father. I know right- me and a friend are secretly hoping his first wife just turns up out of the blue and they retire quietly somewhere. I know- his life sucks- and I just want him to be happy!!

Awesome tag with awesome questions, and thanks for tagging me 🙂 Really brings me back in the mood for the new season 😀 I’m super excited to do that which house are you quiz when I do this tag!

Thank you!! I know- I’m getting ridiculously excited for it now! It’s such a fun quiz- and the descriptions of all the houses in it are hilarious- my friend did it for all of them and got the most hilarious response for bolton!

I have so much love for this post! 😀 Unfortunately, the last season let me down big time and I kind of lost interest. But I liked the characters enough to check the new one, I need to know what happens to some of them!

Thanks so much!! I was a little disappointed with season 5 too- I wasn’t so crazy about the direction they took the Dorne story, or even the bit where Dany and Tyrion met- cos it felt a bit too fanfic-y to me. What problems did you have with it?
LikeLike
Every problem you can think of xD To be honest, I was so bored I don’t recall much from that season. I felt some storylines dragged too much while others were rushed off. It was like they were only throwing things in for the ratings. I know every tv show cares about the numbers, but here it was obvious the numbers overshadowed the content.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Ahh yes, it was more boring than most seasons! Definitely- I agree with both of those points! Definitely- that’s why they did the whole Tyrion thing. And they killed of Barriston Selmy for no reason. Yeah- such a shame, cos it’s such an awesome show (in my opinion of course)

I resisted for a long time, I think I started watching just before season 4 and I was hooked right away. I love shows that make me scream at the tv and this one is perfect for it XD But then, season 4 was just okay and 5 well… I hope they’ve done a better job with the new one. Still, I agree it is a great show 🙂

Ahh I started right at the beginning and got hooked! Haha I know right- that’s my favourite type of tv too! Season 4 wasn’t as good, cos the source material’s not as good
but I really was disappointed with season 5, cos the 5th book is amazing! Yes- me too!!! It looks good from the trailer- but you can never really tell- I’m excited that they’re not doing more with dorne and are going to do more greyjoy stories instead- that should be good (*fingers and toes crossed*) It really is 🙂

I could not finish the first book, I hate Martin’s writing, so I don’t know if the books are better than the show 😦
LikeLiked by 1 person
ah I actually really agree- *shh don’t tell anyone*- I’m really weird that way, cos I love the tv show but actually really don’t think Martin’s writing is that great. Don’t get me wrong, he’s a great story teller and can come up with compelling characters- but he’s super long winded and spends wayyy too much time describing food
LikeLiked by 1 person
Exactly, he created an awesome world and everything, but his writing is just meh- (I won’t tell anyone, your secret is safe with me… Unless you betray me *evil laughter* That was my attempt at being a GoT character, haha!)
LikeLiked by 1 person
I know- such a shame- the first time I read it, I just gave up and didn’t finish it. It was only cos I liked the tv show so much and wanted to know what happened without getting spoiled (I knew about a certain character dying in season 2) that I persevered with all the books! hahahahaha it was an excellent impression :p very cersei lannister (that was me being very cersei lannister actually- what a cow that woman is!)
LikeLiked by 1 person
Me too!! I was so impressed by the to show that I trusted the books to be as good and then I was like “what the hell is that?!!” I love to hate Cersei! 😀 I pictured you with a glass of wine and than cold expression so familiar haha

I know right! So disappointing! Oh me too- she’s one of the most enjoyable villains in it 🙂 hahahaha sounds about right!

Tell me about it. I freaking love game of thrones too. I cant wait for the new series. I watched the last episodes too. I took the quiz too and oh boy… I am Targeryen (Which is my favorite!).

oh me too 🙂 I absolutely love it and am getting more excited every day!! Awesome- *high fives*- us targaryens are gonna rule the world (or rather westeros 😉 )

Thank you so much for tagging me!!! You came up with awesome categories, I love it!
I had to take the quiz about which family I belong to as well and *squeal* I got house Stark 😀 (Now what shall I do with my Targeryen notebook?) The first line they sent with the results was just hilarious: “The good news is, you’re a thoroughly decent human being. The bad news is, that is a very dangerous thing to be in Westeros.” It’s the truth though .. I would so die.

You’re welcome!! Thank you!! oooh that’s fantastic!!!! What a great one to get! haha I think being Stark still means you can use the Targaryen notebook- if you’d got Baratheon on the other hand you’d have had to throw it away :p hahahahaha amazing- I love the descriptions on that quiz- my friend tried it out to get loads of different answers and this was the boltons: Yeah, somebody’s slightly creepy. Did I say slightly? Very creepy – you are very creepy. Congratulations on winning Most Likely to Be Evil, Most Likely to Own a Murder Dungeon, and Most Likely to Make Children Everywhere Wake Up Screaming. You are ambitious, clever and strategic – but honestly, nobody cares about all that when you’re chasing them through the woods with a bow and arrow in one hand and a castration knife in the other.*
haha I know right- there’s no way I’d survive Westeros

OMG hahahaha that Bolton description is on point though!
Here is the full one for the Starks:
“The good news is, you’re a thoroughly decent human being. The bad news is, that is a very dangerous thing to be in Westeros. You are loyal, dutiful, and generally ill at ease among the toxic politics of King’s Landing. Either buckle down and learn to play the game, or get the hell out into more hospitable environments. The North may be freezing, but it also has notably less backstabbing which, bless your little heart, is not exactly your strong suit.”

YAAASSSS. I love Game of Thrones too and am so ready for Season 6. I have given up on waiting for The Winds of Winter. The book will come when it will. So I will simply enjoy the brilliant show for now. Whatever happens in season 6, the books are probably going to vary wildly, so it’ll be like we’re getting two versions of the story. The real one (books) and the amazing, author-sanctioned fan fiction (TV show).
I’m House Stark and I would totally die, like I’ll be super-extra-dead in the Game of Thrones.

Thank you so much! I know right!!! haha well I’m still tense about waiting for the next book!! It really is brilliant though- and in many ways I secretly prefer it to the book! Oh definitely- enough has already diverged from the books that it’s reasonable to expect they will be quire different. The show is beginning to feel a bit more like fanfic though. Definitely!
hahaha most people would be- especially if you’re a Stark :p

Yay, I’m so glad u tagged me on this one. This is a really good book tag!! Just last night, when at last I hit my 60,000-word writing goal for the month, guess how I celebrated. By finally watching the season opener of Game of Thrones! What a gooood episode it was, too.
