Wahey- it’s actually Tuesday this time! As with the last few Tuesdays, I’m participating in Codie’s awesome TV Tuesday meme.
The rules are as follows (because there are always rules):
- Link back to the originator (Codie @Reader’s Anonymous)
Choose between these three:
- Book-to-Movie/TV show adaptation (have you seen it? If no, do you plan to?)
- Book you think should be a movie/TV show (Why?)
- Movie/TV show that prompted you to read a book?
So what am I doing with my TV time now that Game of Thrones is over? Well, I’m binging an old favourite: The Legend of the Seeker.
What is that? I hear some of you ask. Seriously? That’s rubbish! I hear others say. Well hear me out! While I admit it is an excessively cheesy show, it also happens to be one of the most fun TV shows I’ve ever had the pleasure of watching. Yes, as I said, it’s no masterpiece (unlike Game of Thrones) but if you enjoy a bit of a jaunt through a fantasy realm and adventurous storylines- this is a really great series. Plus who doesn’t secretly love a bit of cheese?
Sadly this was cancelled after just two series- but fortunately for me I still have all of Goodkind’s series (that it’s based on) to get through to make up for missing out on the rest of the story! In the meantime- you can check out the trailer here:
So what do you think? Have you seen this series? Will you be giving it a go? Let me know in the comments!
Is this a tv series in Britain?? Is it on Netflix? It sure look graphic enough for my daughter and her husband lol

It’s actually an american show- but I loved it to so much that I bought it on itunes 😉 I’ve no idea if it’s on netflix I’m afraid! It’s not graphic like Game of thrones- but then nothing is! 😉 It’s more like a slightly more extreme version of merlin (which is a british show)

I used to love Legend of the Seeker! It is somewhat of a guilty pleasure show but I absolutely agree with you that everyone needs a little cheese now and then!

Ahh I’m so glad to meet another fan!! I literally thought I was the only one on the planet!! It really is a guilty pleasure- but an amazing one!! Thank you!!

It’s a guilty pleasure, but surprisingly, I found it less cheesy and much more bearable than the book series=D I only got through two of Goodkind’s books and then I couldn’t take it anymore.

Ahh I’m glad you like it! I’ve not tried the book series yet- I hope I like it a bit more than you do- bur we’ll see! (not feeling to encouraged to be honest

Well, it’s really… cliche, you know? In my opinion. I mean I remember I couldn’t take book 2 anymore because first of all, there were too many words. Zelazny told a much better story in a novel maybe five times less than Goodkind’s Wizard’s First Rule. And it’s got a Gary Stu as the main character. After I gave up, I stumbled upon Limyaael’s fantasy rant on Goodkind (Google it if you’re interested; I don’t remember if it has big spoilers though) which just laid out everything I found wrong with the series — and more. There are much better fantasy books out there, but everyone’s taste is different, so don’t be too discouraged… I’m sorry, when I don’t like something, it’s REALLY obvious=D

Ah I understand- I’ve had that problem with fantasy series before
Ah awesome- I’m gonna have to check that out! hahaha no that’s no problem- I’m definitely not one to talk- I’m the exact same! I’ll still give it a go, cos I have the first book, but I will bear this in mind and try not to get my hopes up! thanks for the tip!!

Lol I think it’s rubbish but I love watching it. It’s hard to describe my relationship with this show. Most of it frustrates me but I couldn’t stop watching it and I was upset when it was cancelled.
I don’t like the books.

That looks like a really good series!!! plus the guy looks really fit and it doesn’t seem as gory as Game of thrones! A massive bonus!! Wait how do you finish it if there are only 2 series?

It’s good but cheesy 🙂 If you liked BBC’s Merlin then it’ll probably be up your street

I was obsessed! Doctor Who and Merlin was my childhood, with Sherlock now replacing Merlin.
