(or rather books I think will get all the bananas)
I’ve seen this around quite a bit and I love the idea… even though this is probably a bad plan cos I don’t usually like to hype things up in my mind. Still, I reckon these are books where I can’t help but think I’m going to love them or at the very least really, really enjoy them. So let’s get to it, shall we?
Strange the Dreamer– I actually own this book and have for a while- still not read it yet, partly because I’m rereading her other series, but mostly because I think it’s going to be amazing and I want to devour it all in one go.
Book of Dust– Ditto- I own this, but am scared to start it. This is pretty much guaranteed 5 bananas from me, just because I am SO GRATEFUL to Pullman for writing this companion book to one of my ALL TIME FAVOURITE series. (In case you can’t tell I’m excited for this!)
Wolf By Wolf- Annnnd yes I own this too. In fact I put it on my tbr, because I saw Kat’s awesome review and thought “I’m gonna love this”. It’s been sitting on my kindle since then and I haven’t picked it up for two reasons 1) I think I’ll love it and as you might be able to tell from the last two books on here, I have a tendency to save books I think I’m going to really love because if I read it, it’ll be over, then where will I be?) and 2) because as much as I want to read it the subject matter is a *little* off-putting- so this is probably the one on the list that’s most likely to be hit or miss.
Iron Gold– Okay- finally a book on here I don’t own… But that’s only cos it’s not out yet 😉 I am so PSYCHED for this though and I literally cannot wait to get my hands on it (knowing me though, I’ll buy it straightaway and then leave it on my shelf till the rest of the series gets released #standard)
Girl in the Tower– I know it’s getting to the point where I mention this every few posts, but I AM SO LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS! (I seriously need to write my review already to explain WHY exactly I am freakin’ crazy over this series… ah well, you’ll have to wait and see) Either way- can’t wait to get my mitts on this!
And that’s it! Also what book on your TBR do you think you’re likely to give 5 stars too? Let me know in the comments!
Totally YES to saving your predicted 5-star selections as long as you can! The idea of developing book hangover is a really dreadful thing to anticipate!
I bought “All The Crooked Saints” a while back (it arrived around Nov. 3rd), but I’m purposefully saving it, because I’m almost through my library TBR, and won’t be able to afford any more new books until Christmas! Eeep!

Thank you!! So glad you agree!! 😀 hehehe absolutely!!
Ahh yes, I actually have that on my kindle too- but I’m also saving it for a good opportunity (and when I don’t have as many other books out the library 😉 )

I find it impossible to predict what will be a 5 star read. It tends to be the ones I’m not expecting much from that end up blowing me away while the ones I’ve built up let me down 😔
If I can count books I’ve read but haven’t reviewed yet, Holly Bourne’s How Do You Like Me Now will be getting all the stars.

hehe I get that- I’ve felt the same way so often, I feel like it’s really very unpredictable 😉 It was fun to do, but I have no idea if this will hold up 😉
heheh well awesome!! I look forward to your review on it then 😉

I can’t WAIT for you to read The Book of Dust, I’d be really curious to hear your thoughts about this. It was a 4 stars for me, but I think I expected a little bit too much about it all? Anyway, it was still a great book and fantastic to get back into that world. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts 😀

Ahh I completely get that- I have no idea what to expect from it to be honest, but I’d be happy with 4 stars to be honest 🙂 Thank you! 😀

YES TO WOLF BY WOLF! That book is all kinds of amazing. Trust me you will love it. The whole concept is terrifying but the execution of the plot and the characters is just incredible. I still need to read Strange the Dreamer, but I can really see myself loving that book.

My to read list has been going through the roof these past few weeks, because of some great reviews on blogs like yours as well as others (I’m seriously doubting that I will ever finish everything until I die lol 😂😂).
One book that I expect to give 5 stars is Strange Weather by Joe Hill. Really looking forward to that one.
Looking at your list of books in this post, you are in for some great reads. Looking forward to the reviews (and adding them to my to read list lol 😂😂).

I’ve seen plenty of these posts around and it really makes me want to do one as well. Then again I rate books quite highly so my five-star predictions will likely be the whole of my TBR list! 😀
Iron Gold is a book I am so so so excited for. I know that’s going to be a five-star read for me, and hopefully it will be the same case with The Book of Dust. Also oh I really hope you enjoy Strange the Dreamer. That’s a favourite read of mine and yeah it was quite hyped up in the run up to its release but in my opinion the hype was all true. 🙂
Great post! 😀

That’s all right! 🙂

It’s good to see you are on several Hype Trains! Nothing wrong with looking forward to books!
I hear so many good things about ‘Strange the Dreamer’ but I will probably pass. I heard lots of good things about ‘Daughter of Smoke and Bone’ as well & hated it 😀

hehe thank you!! 😀 Absolutely agree there!!
That makes a lot of sense- I happened to love that book, but seen as you didn’t I reckon it’s worth giving it a miss.

I am so excited for Iron Gold. I have a feeling I will read and love everything that Pierce Brown writes!

Iron Gold will be the death of me, I just know it! I have the Red Rising books in very mismatched formats and whatnot, so I am considering getting the new spin-off/sequels/whatever-they-want-to-call-it in hardcover, just because I know I will love them so much (and let’s face it, they are released earlier than paperbacks sometimes).
Thanks so much for linking to my review! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the fact that you want to read Wolf by Wolf because of me. I am not an easy one to convince to read a book set in that time and place, yet it enchanted me (when I ignore the use of the German language hahaha). I hope one day soon you’ll feel ready to pick it up and then I simply cannot wait to hear all your thoughts on it!

hehe I know right!!! All of his books *killed* me! Oh I hear you, I have so many series like that. I have them all on kindle though, so I’m gonna stick with it for that- although I desperately want the hardcover, cos I know I’ll love it… 😉
You’re welcome!! I really do- I absolutely loved that review and it was an instabuy after that! And that was one of the things that convinced me, because I am the exact same about that. hehe well I won’t notice that lol- so I’ll be in the clear there 😉 Thank you! 😀

The UK covers of Arden’s books are so pretty. The first book didn’t go well for me, but I plan to read the second in the upcoming winter months.

I don’t have any of these on my TBR bit I look forward to your expert reviews cause that’s how books end up on my TBR 😉. I still need to read those Smoke and Bone books. One of these days when I’m out of whatever is going on right now that’s preventing me to want to read. I did just buy the first two books in the Kingmaker Chronicles by Amanda Bouchet cause they were only 55 cents each. I have a feeling I’ll rate them high cause they’ve had some really good reviews!

Love the idea behind this post. So true that there are so many books out there that I just KNOW that I’m going to INSTA-5-STAR it hahahah Sequel to Red Sister, Grey Sister… As well as the sequel to Blackwing, Ravencry… are two that I can think of.. and I think you can relate too hahahahaahah 😀

Cool list! I think I am most interested to find out what you thought about Strange the Dreamer… when the book news first came out, I thought- yes, gimme… but then reviews started pouring in and some of them killed my excitement a bit.. so, yes, defo looking forward to your thoughts on this! 🙂

Ahh yes I totally agree!! Although recently I reread Daughter of Smoke and Bone and felt more excited to pick it up because it was so beautifully written… so now I’m excited again! 😀 (especially since a lot of people were complaining about the writing, which I already know I’ll love)

I have high hopes for The Book of Dust and Iron Gold too!! But I can see what you mean too much hyping sometimes bringing disappointment… I try to keep my expectations low to combat that, but it rarely works!
I hope you like Strange the Dreamer! Maybe I should tell you I thought it wasn’t that great just to de-hype a bit 😉 Actually to be honest, there were a couple of things I wish had played out differently (I won’t give details to avoid spoilers) – but the rest of it was just so great I overlooked them and it still got 5 shiny stars from me 😀

I have only one thing to say after this: Read Strange the Dreamer!! It’s such a good book! I gave it 5 stars and it’s one of my favorite books of 2017 and I so hope that you like it too. As for my own TBR I have a pretty good feeling about The Name of the Wind. People tell me it’s amazing and I’ve owned it for so long. I hope I get to it before 2017 ends!
