Sunshine Blogger Award With Some Seriously Sunshiney Questions!

Hello all! Today is officially the start of winter… so what better time for a little EXTRA sunshine?! Plus these questions are insanely good!! I’m really excited to have been nominated by two of my favourite people on here- Dani @Perspective of a Writer and Nel @Reactionary Tales because that means I get the chance to SHOUT about how much I love them and why you all need to check them out (because you really, really do!) They both run seriously AMAZING blogs and are completely unique, lovely humans!!

(Graphic is by the absolutely amazingly talented Dani– I told you she was cool, didn’t I?)

NB: I’ve been tagged a few other times for this, with different questions, but I’m gonna save those for another time.

Who is the one person that is the sunshine in your life?

I’m gonna say my sister- THE MONKEY BABY!

monkey baby final

Do you prefer all happy movies, or occasional sad movies?

disney-characters-big

It does depend on my mood- still, while I do like the occasional sob over a good movie, I largely stick to happy ones, like a Disney movie or a musical (then again, I class LOTR as happy- not sure I’m always a good measure of what “happy” is…)

What is the one food that always makes you happy?

Chocolate!

What is the sunshine on your blog?

You guys!! 😘

What is your favourite  wacky “fun” day?

Oh I’m a party animal- my favourite, wacky fun day would be any day I get off to just lie in bed and read books (preferably while drinking hot chocolate with Baileys- rock on!)

taking a day off

What is one thing you love about yourself?

*Shuffles awkwardly* hard question (what? I’m British!) Ermm my imagination.

What is one think you love about the blogging community?

How friendly you all are!

What is the one book that made you smile the most?

isla and the happily ever after

Where is your corner of sunshine in your home?

The balcony (it literally gets a lot of sunshine 😉 also it’s nice to relax on when it’s not cold)

What is your favorite color or colors?

rainbow2

“Red and yellow and pink and green,
Purple and orange and blue…”

I don’t technically have a favourite, so I’m going with “rainbow”

What is the one movie (or drama) that always makes you happy?

Well, I mentioned this earlier, but Lord of the Rings is my happy film!

lord of the rings movies.jpg

I’m going to take a leaf out of Dani’s book and use the same questions, but I’m nominating just a few people who always make me smile (even if this may not be their thing 😉 )

Bookstooge, Lucinda, Carrie, DrewMichelDaley and Sam

(as usual no pressure to do it)

So what’s the most sunshiney thing in your life right now? Let me know in the comments!

I love your answers for these questions. I was tagged by Dani as well and my sister is probably going to be my answer for the person who is the sunshine in my life! 😀 Also yes there is nothing happier than a Disney film is there, when you know there’s going to be a happy ending and it’s all just perfect.
Chocolate is my happy food, honestly I’m really craving it right now, and I definitely love how friendly the blogging community is as well. It’s the best part in my opinion.
Great answers, and great post as well! 😀 ❤

Great post. I might subvert it over the weekend into a Little Raincloud Award 🙂

Right now, Mrs Bookstooge getting back from California safely is what’s making my sunshine. Amazing what a week of being apart will do…

Totally agree with the choice of LOTR! It might have its grim moments and sadness mixed with the joy, but “not all tears are evil.” Tolkien describes it as the “eucatastrophe”:

“I coined the word ‘eucatastrophe’: the sudden happy turn in a story which pierces you with a joy that brings tears (which I argued it is the highest function of fairy-stories to produce). And I was there led to the view that it produces its peculiar effect because it is a sudden glimpse of Truth, your whole nature chained in material cause and effect, the chain of death, feels a sudden relief as if a major limb out of joint had suddenly snapped back. It perceives – if the story has literary ‘truth’ on the second plane (….) – that this is indeed how things really do work in the Great World for which our nature is made. And I concluded by saying that the Resurrection was the greatest ‘eucatastrophe’ possible in the greatest Fairy Story – and produces that essential emotion: Christian joy which produces tears because it is qualitatively so like sorrow, because it comes from those places where Joy and Sorrow are at one, reconciled, as selfishness and altruism are lost in Love.” – J. R. R. Tolkien

One hundred percent agree! I was just explaining to someone else that even though it makes me cry, it’s so uplifting in the end that I absolutely love it and regard it as a “happy” film 😊

And thank you so much for sharing that with me- those are such beautiful words from Tolkien!
