3000 followers? Reverse Q&A!

So a couple of days ago I hit 3000 followers and I’m still in a state of shock to be honest. It still amazes me that anyone reads my blog at all! Massive thank you and much love to you all!

I wanted to do a fun little post in celebration and since I’d like this to be more about *you* than me- which is why I’m doing a reverse Q&A. I’ve devised some really important questions as well 😉 Starting with:

  1. What’s your favourite kind of cheese?
  2. Are you more of a DNFer or a power-through-to-the-end kind of reader?
  3. If you were the world’s worst superhero, what would your superpower be?
  4. Who is your biggest bookish hero?
  5. What movie mashup would you most like to see?
  6. What’s the best thing about summer?
  7. What would your perfect summer day be like?
  8. And finally, don’t think, tell me the first summery book that pops into your mind!

Let me know your answers in the comments!

  1. Congratulations! I’m so happy to have found your blog 🙂

    1. Halloumi ❤
    2. I try really hard to never DNF, I feel like I don't have the right to judge a book unless I've read it to the end. But on rare occasions, I just have to give up. Life is short!
    3. Being able to inflate balloons hahaha, I have no idea?
    4. I hate to be stereotypical but probably someone like Samwise Gamgee!
    5. I'd love to see one of the classics mashed up with a horror movie!
    6. Sunshine, butterflies and ice cream
    7. A picnic by the river in my home city of Durham, with my closest friends and yummy food 🙂
    8. Either Love and Gelato, or the Summer Days and Summer Nights anthology.

What’s your favourite kind of cheese?
I love a French cheese called Maroilles a whole lot haha.

Are you more of a DNFer or a power-through-to-the-end kind of reader?
    I’m a power-through kind of person, can’t remember the last time I DNF’ed a book?!

If you were the world’s worst superhero, what would your superpower be?
WORST? Hmmm, being able to appear in the middle of the room at the most awkward moments?

Who is your biggest bookish hero?
GOOD QUESTION. I want to say Katniss right now, because let’s be cliché? 😛

What movie mashup would you most like to see?
Harry Potter meets Love Actually. Romances and cuteness plus magic.

What’s the best thing about summer?
    HOLIDAYS AND TRAVELING, obviously.

Mmm I don’t know that one!

Yeah I totally struggle to DNF books tbh.

hahahahah that’d be the worst power for sure!! 😉

Nah Katniss could never be cliche!

hehee oh I could get into a HP love actually!

      Obviously!

And that series is so summery 😀

  4. What’s your favourite kind of cheese? Feta made with our goats’ milk. Ah, I miss my Nubian goats…

Are you more of a DNFer or a power-through-to-the-end kind of reader? I can’t force myself to finish a book I don’t like–this may come with age and a sense that I don’t want to waste a precious minute of reading time.

If you were the world’s worst superhero, what would your superpower be? being such a bitchy drama queen that villains would run for the hills.

Who is your biggest bookish hero? Theodore Roosevelt. he had a voracious appetite for reading and photographic memory. He lived with such zest!

What movie mashup would you most like to see? Anne of Green Gables meets War and Peace (I’ve never seen the movie or series). Prince Andrei marries Anne (and lives).

What’s the best thing about summer? Crickets and Saratoga Springs, NY–Shakespeare in the park and horse racing.

What would your perfect summer day be like? Browsing used bookstores in the morning, lunch under an umbrella and and afternoon reading by the lake.

And finally, don’t think, tell me the first summery book that pops into your mind! On the Banks of Plum Creek by Laura Ingalls Wilder. The book was illustrated by the fantastic Garth Williams who captured life on the prairie and childhood so brilliantly.

Congratulations on your following! that’s some accomplishment–and well deserved.

  5. AHHHH! CONGRATS!!!! *throws all the confetti* You really deserve all those followers and I am so happy for you ❤ I am now going to try and respond to your questions as best as I can.

What’s your favourite kind of cheese?
I could never choose just one kind of cheese! So, I am a simple girl, I like Gouda, mozzarella, marble moneterey jack, brie, goat cheese, all the cheese.
Are you more of a DNFer or a power-through-to-the-end kind of reader?
I usually power through, but maybe with a couple lengthy breaks inbetween.
If you were the world’s worst superhero, what would your superpower be?
I would be able to transform into a goldfish or miniature hamster or any kind of small useless animal. (My only real quality would be that I could always escape through tiny cracks)
Who is your biggest bookish hero?
Max Vandenburg, my bookish husband endured so much and remained such a good person. Definite hero qualities (but like same for Liesel)
What movie mashup would you most like to see?
Can I do TV shows? I am just gonna … Dirk Gently meets Wynonna Earp! The insanity that would ensue has me thrilled just at the thought of it.
What’s the best thing about summer?
Justifiably being able to crave ice cream at all times.
What would your perfect summer day be like?
Not too hot or blinding sun, but a light breeze instead. Me being at a location somewhere on the northwestern Pacific coast. A rocking playlist on my phone, a good book in hand and no obligations whatsoever.
And finally, don’t think, tell me the first summery book that pops into your mind!

      Oh great answer for hero!!
And yeah sure you can do shows- I still haven’t watched those- I need to!!
Ahh yes- so agree- people think I’m weird for wanting ice cream in winter 😉 (I think they’re wrong, but whatever 😉 )
      Lovely answer!!
      And that’s a great summery book!! 😀

  7. Congratulations on reaching 3000 followers!!! That’s amazing and so is your blog 💕

    1. I love all the cheese, but my favorite is Camembert. Preferably fried!
    2. I’m a power through reader, trying to become a DNF’er. There’s too many good books out there to waste time on bad ones, but it’s so hard to quit – cause what if it gets good???
    3. My superpower would be making all cats want to cuddle me.
    4. Vasya from The Bear and the Nightingale
    5. Suicide Squad meets Hocus Pocus!
    6. Picnics in the park, cute dresses, outdoor concerts and swimming in the lake.
    7. Doing something active in the day, like going on a bike ride or hike, then having people over for barbecue food and dancing in the garden, then ending the night with a dip in the lake.

hehehe that’d be a pretty awesome power (but also yeah, not so useful 😉 )

  8. Congratulations! I’m not surprised 😉 I love your posts, so thanks a lot!

    1) the-not-salty kind
    2) ??
    3) glow in the dark uncontrollably (where flashlights are omnipresent; plus it may be a severe disadvantage when you want to hide from the enemy), restore electric power (we have power banks!), knowing people’s locations (we have GPS).
    4) Abe from Hellboy (mostly because I can’t swim and am afraid of deep water, heheheh)
    5) “Beauty and the Beast” with “Catfish The Movie”. Belle is pursued by two people (cyber way; with different socmed profiles), the Beast and the Prince. She knows by instinct there’s something fishy (no, she’s actually madly in love with both, and can’t decide. LOL) She’s investigating the whole thing (noted, the beast have different friends and family, but actually they’re the same persons in the Prince’s life who are cursed as well).
    6) I live in a tropical country though. Hmmm. The best thing about summer is, I guess, being sunny ;)?. But, I love rain. I love clouds. so, how about rainy cloudy summer? hahaha. See? my opinion doesn’t count.
    7) When it’s cloudy with a little bit rain. I can walk outside without scorching sunlight. Or a heavy rain, but no thunder. So I have a solid reason to stay at home, just being lazy. perfect!
    8) Vivien’s Heavenly Ice Cream Shop. Only because you said, “don’t think”. Summery—> hot—> ice cream!

Alice in Wonderland plus Bend It Like Beckham (where they don’t steamroll the lesbian storyline due to producer pressure) – daydreamer Alice is surprised by what new soccer teammate Hattie is up to, when she follows Hattie after practice; she was intrigued by the other girl’s worried “i’m late i’m late i mustn’t be late”

-I power through, even if it kills me!
-The power to stay up all night reading and still function on two hours of sleep!

-Umm…the fact that it’s not winter?
-Staying inside in an air-conditioned room. Also, reading!
-Uh…Um…I’ll GIve You the Sun? I’ve never read it and don’t know if it’s in the summer but it was the first thing I thought of. Maybe because it has the word sun in it?

    6. when I still lived in Australia, my favourite thing about summer was the regular afternoon thunderstorms (big dramatic ones that were fun to watch and cooled things down a bit). Now I’m in Europe I just love the fact things are pretty and green again after the winter 🙂

It is so lovely of you to out the spotlight on your followers with a reverse Q&A… speaks volumes about your character! 😉 So, here we go…
    1. What’s your favourite kind of cheese? I am a very boring simple Edam kind of girl… and I do love smoked cheese as well!
    2. Are you more of a DNFer or a power-through-to-the-end kind of reader? Oh defo a power through more than a DNFer… Unless I REALLY can't stomach the book, I remain optimistic until the end thinking something surely will happen to redeem the whole reading experience.. sometimes I even fear that if I DNF then I am going to miss out on something that I didn't get to… very odd…
    3. If you were the world’s worst superhero, what would your superpower be? Oh, hmm… knitting… I could knit woolly socks and jumpers and maybe get the villains to wear them and when they do they get so comfy they won't want to villain anymore? 😀
    4. Who is your biggest bookish hero? Ah, I'll have to fall on Remarque here… his books changed my life!
    5. What movie mashup would you most like to see? Hmmm… since I am all about action I think I'd love to mix The Transporter with Deadpool or something… perhaps, something crazy like Dracula and Frankenstein- like, would they be friends? enemies? hehe…
    6. What’s the best thing about summer? The long days and I love watching bees buzzing around!
    7. What would your perfect summer day be like? Spend a day at home doing some physical work (hay, cut grass, pick berries, make jam, etc) then go to sauna, then gather some lovely cold beers and a sleeping bag and set up a little camp in the forest near a lake and enjoy the solitude, the fire, the silence and later on witness the dawn come at 4am, when birds start to sing and air smells freshest! Heaven!
    8. And finally, don’t think, tell me the first summery book that pops into your mind! – OK, I admit, I completely drew a blank here 😀 hahaha… erm, summery, summery, summery… um… 'Vegetable growing month by month'??? lol, seriously, I can't think of a single summery book… *shame on me*

This was fun! Thank you! and again- congratulations! 🙂 ❤

    1. I am actually not a huge cheese fan? *gasp!* I know. I like it on pizza, lasagna, etc., but I don’t eat it by itself, and I don’t have a favorite.
    2. I’m a power-through-to-the-end kind of reader lol. If I’m going to DNF, I have to do it early, or else I feel like I’ve wasted all that time I already spent reading the book! I only DNF a few books a year.
    3. Anytime there’s a prize wheel where you spin and get a prize, I almost always get the best prize lol. So I guess I’d be Prize Wheel Spinner Girl 😛

    In answer to your questions:

    1. ALL THE CHEESE! I’ll even allow that crap American plastic stuff that you get in burgers. If I *had* to choose though, it would probably be Roquefort.

    2. I’m def a power through kind of girl. I don’t think I’ve ever properly DNF’d a book, I’ve only moved them to the bottom of my TBR.

    3. My crap super power would be to click my fingers and have a clean house. I mostly live in a hovel filled with books, antiques and dust.

    4. My bookish hero is Severus Snape (I thought this was an original answer until I read everyone else’s responses).

    5. I don’t know, I don’t really like movies. Perhaps Alpha Papa and 50 Shades of Grey? They’re sex people Lynn!

    6. The best things about summer are sunshine, beer gardens, seeing the baby foxes on the allotment, harvesting my crops (gotta love a home grown strawberry), seeing bees buzzing round my flowers, having an excuse to be lazy…

    7. My perfect summer day would be in my garden in my hammock reading.

    8. A brilliant summery book is The Tent, The Bucket and Me by Emma Kennedy – a compilation of all her disastrous holidays as a child. Hilarious!

    😊😊😊

My favorite kind of cheese is cheddar or colby jack I’d say. Love just eating them with crackers.
I am definitely a DNFer. I’ll DNF a book in a heartbeat. I feel no remorse doing that. Life is too short to force myself to read a book that bores me. That said however, I will make a Herucluan effort if it’s an ARC for an author I like.
Hahaha. I just sort of answered this in your other post. I think it would be food related, I just don’t know how.
Hmm. That’s a tough one cause I feel like most of the book characters I read about are anti-heros sort of. Maybe I’ll just go with Kate Daniels cause she’s pretty bad ass.
Avengers: Infinity War. (I mean I couldn’t resist. That’s like 20 movies in one; technically more cause of the many movie and book references they dropped. 😉 )
The best thing about summer is the sun. And popcicles.
My perfect summer day would also be, like a lot of your other followers said, laying in a hammock reading or watching a movie on my tablet and just soaking up the sun.
Man! I have to think cause most of the books I read are dark! I legit can’t even think of a good one that takes place in a summery type of setting. AAAH! I’ll have to get back to you on that one.

Congratulations again! I love your blog. ❤

I wish I was better about ditching books tbh- I think it's the best way to be and I'm working on Dnfing it.

      Cool!
hahah true!! (I'm so behind though that's it's probably gonna take me years to get to lol!!)
      Ah that sounds perfect!!
      hehe I totally get that!
