Having a Grand Old Time in Ireland!

orangutan librarian and monkey baby0002Not to be confused with my trip to Northern Ireland πŸ˜‰ That’s right, I took another trip to across the sea, this time to Dublin’s fair city! (it’s actually a long story how I came to make two trips, but we’re gonna skip right over that πŸ˜‰) I went with my sister, the Monkey Baby, and as you might have gathered from the title, we had a lot of fun. Not least cos there’s great sights, food, music (and Guinness is amazing!) We definitely didn’t run out of things to do.Β

I absolutely loved the Irish patter too and the streets were so steeped in stories. I learnt a lot in the short time I had to spend there. One of the absolute highlights was the Long Room (the library) at Trinity College πŸ˜€

Plus we stumbled across a couple of famous people…

Beyond the literary heroes and history, I also got to go to the Wicklow mountains and saw some scenes that looked like they were out of a fairy tale!

And that’s all for my touristy-brochure style post! πŸ˜‰ If you actually want a great list of things to do/itinerary for a day trip to Dublin I really recommend Nyx’s post from Hurricane and Drizzle books– cos I drew a lot of inspiration from that when planning this trip!

  1. Ah hah! So this is why you’ve been kind of absent on line. You’ve been off drinking yourself into the gutters every night! Shame on you for setting such a bad example for monkey baby. Fie, fie!

  2. This looks like such a fun trip!! During my one very brief trip to Dublin, I absolutely loved the city and would love to return someday to explore more – including visiting the Long Room at Trinity College! And those photos from the Wicklow mountains look so beautiful and magical! 😱

  5. I want to go back to Dublin. I visited a few years ago and didn’t love it – but I think it may have had more to do with my travel buddy’s lack of enthusiasm for literally everything than the city itself. I’m glad you had a lovely time!

  6. Ahhh absolutely gorgeous photos! They really do look fairytale-esque! I’ve not been out that way before, but now I really want to! I have visited the city of Dublin though and always really enjoy it. The Trinity College library is stunning! I’m so happy you had a lovely trip xxx

  7. Absolutely gorgeous!! I’ve always wanted to travel to Ireland… and England…. and Scotland… I’m trying to convince my husband that we should do a 3 country tour for our 10 year wedding anniversary in 2022. I feel like I will be able to wear him down by then lol

The library at Trinity College is definitely on my bookish bucket list!
