Before we get to my top ten, I always like to do a little teaser to share some of the other amazing books I read this year. All of these are TOP BANANA- so they deserve some love and attention! Here are just a few of my reading highlights from the year…
Aurora Rising and Cruel Prince were excellent series openers. Soul of the Sword got me excited to read more! Holy Sister and Crowfall were both excellent ways to wrap up a series. Daisy Jones has been playing on my mind ever since I listened to it on audiobook. I got tried Laini Taylor’s delectable Night of Cake and Puppets. Woman in Black was *freaky*. Evelyn Hardcastle was one of the most unique books I’ve ever read! Woke made me laugh out loud! And I fell in love with Cait @Paper Fury’s books this year as well. And, of course, Secret History has been making reminisce ever since I read it.
And that’s all for now! Feel free to get excited about the top ten, because they rock!!
Oh I’m so glad you loved the secret history! It made into my top 10 favourites of the year. Great list!!

This looks like such a great list!! I really should listen to the audiobook of Daisy Jones, since I enjoyed it as a physical book but I feel like I’ll appreciate it even more in that format. And several of these books are on my TBR, like Aurora Rising and The Secret History, so I’m glad to see you liked them so much! Happy reading in 2020! 😄

I liked Daisy Jones enough to buy it, but I’m SO EXCITED to listen to it on audio. I just think it’s going to be even better! 🙂

I really enjoyed Daisy Jones and the Six this year. I think it falls just short of my top ten. I liked Evelyn Hardscastle a lot because it went outside the narrative “lines” that we’re used to. But I felt like it got bogged down in its own concept and felt repetitive at some point. The Secret History and The Woman in Black are definitely favorites too.

Yeah it just about didn’t make it for me- but I thoroughly enjoyed it! 😀 And I totally get what you mean- I loved that it was so unique, but it wasn’t perfect for me. And they were real stand out reads for me as well! 😀

Nice list! I’m excited to see that you enjoyed Aurora Rising, The Cruel Prince, and the Mark Lawrence book so much since those are all on my TBR! (Well, not Holy Sister exactly, but the first book in that series.)

Thanks, I’m looking forward to Red Sister! I read Lawrence’s One Word Kill this year and enjoyed it, so I’m confident I’ll like the writing style, at least.

So many great books here!! I loved Daisy Jones as well and it easily made my favorites list of the year! I have actually been reading Soul of the Sword on and off for over half a year … I really want to finish it but I never feel as though I’m in the appropriate mood to do so! lol.
