Sunshine Blogger Award With Some Seriously Sunshiney Questions!

Hello all! Today is officially the start of winter… so what better time for a little EXTRA sunshine?! Plus these questions are insanely good!! I’m really excited to have been nominated by two of my favourite people on here- Dani @Perspective of a Writer and Nel @Reactionary Tales because that means I get the chance to SHOUT about how much I love them and why you all need to check them out (because you really, really do!) They both run seriously AMAZING blogs and are completely unique, lovely humans!!

(Graphic is by the absolutely amazingly talented Dani– I told you she was cool, didn’t I?)

NB: I’ve been tagged a few other times for this, with different questions, but I’m gonna save those for another time.

Who is the one person that is the sunshine in your life?

I’m gonna say my sister- THE MONKEY BABY!

monkey baby final

Do you prefer all happy movies, or occasional sad movies?

It does depend on my mood- still, while I do like the occasional sob over a good movie, I largely stick to happy ones, like a Disney movie or a musical (then again, I class LOTR as happy- not sure I’m always a good measure of what “happy” is…)

What is the one food that always makes you happy?

What is the sunshine on your blog?

You guys!! 😘

What is your favourite  wacky “fun” day?

Oh I’m a party animal- my favourite, wacky fun day would be any day I get off to just lie in bed and read books (preferably while drinking hot chocolate with Baileys- rock on!)

taking a day off

What is one thing you love about yourself?

*Shuffles awkwardly* hard question (what? I’m British!) Ermm my imagination.

What is one think you love about the blogging community?

How friendly you all are!

What is the one book that made you smile the most?

isla and the happily ever after

Where is your corner of sunshine in your home?

The balcony (it literally gets a lot of sunshine 😉 also it’s nice to relax on when it’s not cold)

What is your favorite color or colors?

“Red and yellow and pink and green,
Purple and orange and blue…”

I don’t technically have a favourite, so I’m going with “rainbow”

What is the one movie (or drama) that always makes you happy?

Well, I mentioned this earlier, but Lord of the Rings is my happy film!

lord of the rings movies.jpg

I’m going to take a leaf out of Dani’s book and use the same questions, but I’m nominating just a few people who always make me smile (even if this may not be their thing 😉 )

Bookstooge, Lucinda, Carrie, DrewMichelDaley and Sam

(as usual no pressure to do it)

So what’s the most sunshiney thing in your life right now? Let me know in the comments!

Brotherhood of the World Award

Hello all! It’s been a while since I’ve done an award post, but I absolutely had to do this one, cos the questions are seriously awesome.

Thank you so much to my lovely friend Nel for this award- and if you haven’t checked her out then I don’t know what you’re still doing here, because she’s absolutely fantastic and her blog is one of my favourite’s- so go-go-go!!

Briefly explain your blogging style (where your favorite blogging spot/tools – as in, on the couch using your smartphone or something).

I basically go wherever my computer is and then I work from there- I’m afraid my blogging habits are not more exciting than that. I think one time I used my smartphone for uploading pictures… but that was only cos I couldn’t find the adaptor wire. I do schedule a lot of my posts these days- I usually know in advance if I’m going to be too busy to actually write something and try to do things in batches (aside from having a ton of unused drafts on my laptop- I’m super organised… not 😉 ) Also, another fun fact is my computer, the Mad Hatter, is very temperamental, so here’s a very realistic representation of my blogging habits…

monkey blogging

How do you manage your blogging time including blog reading time?

Oh gosh- BADLY. I’m going to try and not describe this in a way that sounds too chaotic… but yeah, it’s totally chaotic. I’ve already said a bit about how I actually write the posts, so I’ll move straight onto bloghopping. I usually have a ton of blogs open in tabs that I’ve been meaning to catch up on, a ton stored in my head, and a number of comments to reply to. I try and do a little every day- buuut I think a lot of you will know that doesn’t always happen. So, again, I do a lot in batches. I know- my genius is undeniable- it’s like I’m practically producing Shakespeare…monkey typewriter

Who is your most read author?

Ah well, fun question, cos I like to check how my most read authors are competing against each other from time to time (a bit like Hunger Games meets Game of Thrones, but with less death) My most read author- by quite a bit I must say- is Pratchett with 27 books. Maybe I’ll do a post about this at some point- there’s plenty of embarrassing names on that list, I can tell you 😉

How did you come up with your blog name?

Hehe I think it’s self-explanatory if you read my last answer- but for the uninitiated: I like Pratchett, The Librarian is one of my favourite of his Discworld characters, so there you go (now I think about it, it would’ve been funnier if I’d gone with my other favourite character: Death – missed opportunity… *sigh*)

death soul music

What keeps you blogging?

Ooh great question! I’d have to say *all of you*. I started out just sort of talking to myself in a vacuum and while that was fun, I have to say the moment I fell in love with it was when that vacuum started talking back… Okay, WOW that was weird- what I mean to say (and yes I’m keeping that awful opening) is that it’s the blogging friends I’ve made, reading all the awesome bookish thoughts and getting to hear what y’all think in the comments section that keep me coming back! (that and the bananas I dish out in the ratings… what? I am a monkey 😉 )

banana gif

I nominate: Sam@RivermooseReads, Charlotte, Arwa@One’sPeculiar, Beth@ReadingEveryNightJust Being Nessa, Liis, The Awkward Blogger and Perfectly Tolerable

And for everyone else- do you have any exciting blogging habits? And- more importantly- do you think a monkey could produce the works of Shakespeare given the time? Let me know in the comments!

The Black Cat Blue Sea Award – Bumper Edition! (cos I’m a crazy person who forgets to do tags)

Hello all! Hope you’re all having a relaxing Sunday! And as you can tell from the title, I was nominated to do this a few times and it’s taken me ages to get to, so yada yada yada, gonna cut this preamble short- onto the rules!

The Rules Are:

  1. Anybody nominated can nominate eight other bloggers.
  2. The nominee answers three questions posed by the nominator.
  3. The questions you ask while nominating can be any three questions.
  4. If any of the questions asked are offensive or the nominee simply does not want to answer, the nominee does not have to answer them to earn the award.

Thank you so much to the brilliant Pooga @Lifesfinewhine, the spectacular Sammie @ Bookshelves and Biro’s, the awesome Kester @LilBookLovers, the wonderful Steph @Stephanie’s Novel Fiction, the fantastic Michaela @JourneyIntoBooks, and the lovely Liis @ Cover to Cover– they’re all incredible bloggers, so check all these peeps out!!

Pooga’s Questions:

  1. What’s the nicest thing anyone has ever done for you?

What a lovely question! Many people have done many nice things for me, but I’m gonna go with how sweet my sister is to me on my birthday every year cos it’s fresh on my mind.

  1. What are you most afraid of?

Ooh deep- and speaking of depths, not a fan of heights 😉

  1. Do you think the world is getting better or worse?

Hahahahahahahaha… oh dear, trying to answer this without getting too heavy is gonna be hard. In all honesty, I follow the politics too closely and it brings out my inner pessimist, but I’d generally say “better” when I’m in a good mood and thinking about all the amazing technological and social advances of our age. Okay, hope that wasn’t too bad… next question?

Sammie’s Questions:

  1. What do you consider your best blog post from 2016 and why?

Ooh err, I’ve left this a while haven’t I? Ermm maybe one of my wrap up posts (I honestly can’t remember, 2016 was sooo long ago!)

2. Do you have any blogging goals or big plans for your blog in 2017?

*Coughs* Well if I did, I hope I’ve fulfilled them at this stage, it’s getting a bit late in the year for new year’s resolutions.

3. What have been your best and worst reads of this year and why?

best and worst of 2017

Well I’m gonna go with of 2017 cos otherwise this is gonna get ridiculous- so far, off the top of my head, I’d put Fahrenheit 451 right up there and Wideacre’s gonna be one of the contenders for worst book for sure- as for the rest of my list… we’ll have to wait and see…

Kesta’s Questions:

  1. What is your favorite album or soundtrack you like to listen to and why?

one the beatles

And it’s my favourite for loads of reasons: 1) it was the first CD I ever owned 2) I was brought up on a diet of old 60s music and the Beatles are my faves and 3) cos this album has all their number one hits (though incidentally it’s missing a lot of what I consider their best songs)

  1. Which book have you been wanting to get signed for such a long time?

Ooh hard question! I would go with Six of Crows, partly cos a lot of my favourite authors are dead, partly cos I don’t have a lot of physical copies by any of my fave living authors (first instincts being Carry On and Neverwhere), but mostly cos I love this book.

six of crows

  1. Would you rather read only physical books but get a paper cut every 15 minutes or e-books but your device shuts down for 1 minute every 5 minutes?

Ermm no thank you to the papercuts? I figure that would be quite inconvenient and I might eventually die of blood loss or something.

Steph’s Questions:

  1. What is your guiltiest pleasure?

Ermmmm certain kinds of books?! Taylor Swift music… Chocolate… (this is starting to sound like confession)

  1. What is your greatest joy in life?

  1. Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give your 13-year-old self?

kit kat

Chill out. Take a break- have a kit kat- yeah I know you don’t like kit kats, it’s just an expression… I meant stop taking yourself too seriously, but don’t forget to take some things seriously… (I should really stop talking to my thirteen year old self…)

Michaela’s Questions:

  • If you could travel to any fictional world, which would you choose?

narnia lamppost

Narnia! (I may have finally finished the books recently and am a bit obsessed now)

  • If you could only read one book or series for the rest of your life, which would you choose?

Gosh *hard* question!! I don’t want to have to choose just one series- gah!! I suppose His Dark Materials cos it’s an old favourite and there’s a new one coming out soon!

  • If you could bring one book character back to life, who would it be?

Sirius Black!!!

Liis’ (seriously genius) questions:

  1. Who would win the Fairytale Cage Match: The Grimm Brothers or Hans Christian Andersen? Why?

fairy tale hans christian anderson

Hans Christian Anderson cos he would kill with *feels*!!! The Grimm Brothers would just be curled up in the foetal position sobbing something along these lines: “I-I-I know, w-w-w-e chopped toes off the s-s-stepsisters- b-b-b-u-t why did you have to k-k-kill the Little Matchgirl” (oh yeah, spoiler alert)

  1. A goblin comes to you this evening granting you a wish with which you can wake up tomorrow in any fictional world and live there for the rest of forever and ever- what fictional world is it and why?

hogwarts christmas.jpg

Okay I already chose Narnia, so, you twisted my arm HOGWARTS (I’m going through all the clichés today, but they’re cliché for a reason)

  1. You can choose 3 fictional characters and grant them real life. Who would you choose to play god on and bring into this world and why?

The Librarian from Discworld (duh), Mark Watney (cos he’ll perk up my mood) and King Arthur cos “I need a hero!”

i need a hero.png

(also I just wanted to stick that pic in there)

My questions:

  1. Which bookish baddie would you least like to meet in an alleyway at night?
  2. If you had to be in the Hunger Games *and* fight a famous supervillain, who would you pick and why?
  3. Winter is coming… what book will you be reading to keep you warm at night?

I tag: Naty, James, Never Not Reading, Not So Modern Girl, Marianna Reads, Port Jericho and Rivermoose Reads

And now I’m dying to know- what would *your* answers to my questions be? Let me know in the comments!

One Lovely Blogger Award – Musical Edition

Because it’s Saturday and I’m gonna have a lazy day reading (I’d say don’t judge- but you guys aren’t gonna judge me for that 😉 ) I thought I’d do a chilled out post today. Thank you to the *lovely* blogger Amelia in Hull for nominating me to do this award!

  1. Each nominee must THANK the person who nominated them and link their blog in the post.
  2. They must include the rules and add the blog award badge as an image.
  3. Must add 7 facts about themselves and then nominate 15 people.

Tomorrow I’ll be discussing a *controversial* opinion where more than 90% of people are bound to disagree (cos that’s the rating for this movie on Rotten Tomatoes)- so I thought it might be fun to give some musical related facts about me:

  1. I have sung in the rain- more than once 😉
  1. Cabaret *FREAKED ME OUT*- that scene with the Hitler Youth *shivers*. Also this guy…
  1. I have a soft spot for the Wizard of Oz cos it used to be one of the only three videos my grandparents owned (the other two were Donald Duck and Marx Brothers)- we used to visit them every weekend, so I pretty much know that movie by heart.
  1. My history teacher took us to see Les Miserables when we were studying that period of French history- it wasn’t entirely relevant, but it was fun!
  1. Speaking of which, I have several versions of a lot of the Les Mis songs on my Itunes- for “On My Own” I have the official soundtrack, the movie version, the anniversary edition and the French one #noshame
  1. I’ve recently started listening to Hamilton *a lot*. I shouldn’t even like it cos I’m British and we’re still butthurt about the war of independence (JK! if you believe that, you need a strong dose of British humour- I prescribe Oscar Wilde and Austen 😉 )
  1. If you asked me to pick a favourite I would laugh… and then cry. *Some* of my faves are: the aforementioned Les Mis, Wicked, Fiddler on the Roof, Oliver, Singing in the Rain, Bugsy Malone and Sound of Music (and that’s not even including Disney or the Muppets!)

My Nominees:

Vicky, Wonderfilled Reads, Franlaniado, Kristin, Read and Rant and Rock and RollAlways Trust In Books, I’ve Read This, Roseread, Embuhlee, Pooja, Anna and Nicole

So are any of you also fond of musicals? What are your favourites? Let me know in the comments!

The Cramm Award

Okay, time for some bloggery admissions of guilt… After clearing out my shelves the other day, I realised there was another area of my life that could do with a bit of a shake-up… And that’s my total failure to do tags lately. I currently have god-know-how-many tags in my backlog and over 10 already written. But for some reason I haven’t done any tags in such a long time… So I thought I would start *cramming* them in now!! (yes, yes, very punny) Onto the first of (I hope) many tags I’ll be doing this month and beyond!

First off, thank you so much to Sarah @ Between the Pages for nominating me- she’s absolutely lovely and runs an awesome blog- so you should check her out!!

Rules (because we need them):

  • Include that tidbit about who created this awesome award (With link)
  • Mention the person who nominated you
  • Share three things that motivate you to blog
  • Share three people who inspire you to blog
  • Share one thing you hope to do that will improve the world
  • Answer your challenge question
  • Nominate 10+ bloggers and give them a fun ‘challenge question

Three things that motivate me to blog:

  1. Books!
  2. You guys!
  3. Exploring new ideas!

Three people that motivate me to blog:

This is hard to narrow it down to just three! *Sobs*

  1. My blogging friends- you guys know who you are, but I’m gonna give a special mention to Zezee as she was one of my first friends on here and she’s awesome!!
  2. People making amazing content- *massive* shout out to Chris Barnett– he’s really talented and writes the most incredible stories- check him out!
  3. All the people recommending brilliant books- again I could name *so many* people right now, but I’m just gonna mention Bookstooge, cos he consistently writes great reviews!

One thing I hope to do to change the world:

Ooh er… That’s a tall order- I’d like to impact people with my writing- but maybe just changing one person’s world for the better- I’d be happy with that.

The Challenge Question: If you were forced to choose between losing an arm or never being able to use technology for the rest of your life, which would you prefer to sacrifice?

Ermmm I love technology, but sorry, I’m keeping my arm. It’s no contest. I guess I’ll have to do everything the old fashioned way- with both my arms intact. (haha I really want to know who would do the opposite though!)

My Challenge Question: Would you rather be a squib in Harry Potter that’s forced to face Voldemort or human in Middle Earth up close and personal with Sauron?

My Nominations- AKA more Bloggers that Motivate me to Blog:

Kat @ Life and Other Disasters

Donna @ Chocolatenwaffles

Marie @ Drizzle and Hurricane Books

Liz @ Cover to Cover

Vicky @ Books and Strips

Stuart @ Forged From Reverie

Sarah Doughty @ Heartstring Eulogies

Jackie @ Death by Tsudonku

And anyone mentioned in this post!

One Lovely Blog Award

Whoo it’s FRIDAY!!!

Okay, technically it’s not Friday for me anymore, cos it’s past 12 here, but it’s Friday somewhere, right? Anyway, cos I’ve been doing some heavier posts lately, I wanted to let my hair down with a fun fact-filled tag- so I decided to finally get round to doing the One Lovely Blog Award- thanks so much to:

Diana Prince Reviews

The Paper Dragon

Aspiring Blue Cat

Sara Letourneau

The Bookish Underdog

  • They must include the rules and add the blog award badge as an image
  • Must add 7 facts about them.
  • Then nominate 15 people!

I’m gonna be sharing some music-themed facts about me- cos it’s fun (and don’t worry, the above meme is not actually evidence of my taste in music):

  1. I have a very eclectic tastes- I love everything from Taylor Swift to Black Sabbath, Mendelssohn to Disney and MJ to Queen! (although, let’s face it, everyone loves Queen)
  1. Well, everything except House and Dubstep. But this song makes me laugh so much…
  1. My all-time favourite band… well, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN- IT’S THE BEATLES!
  1. I go through phases with music- last month I was obsessed with George Ezra (still am to be honest)
  1. And this month I can’t stop playing this song on a loop:
  1. That and Gaelic folk music, for some inexplicable reason, it’s just so pretty…
  1. But that’s not weird at all- in December I couldn’t stop listening to the Muppets on a loop…

Alrighty then- hope you enjoyed hearing a bit about my peculiar music tastes! I tag:

JJ Azar, The Book and the Bone, The Book Raven, Alanna, I Adore Paper, Rivermoosereads, Rosereads, Blame Chocolate, All Bout Them Books and Stuff & Everything Under the Sun

And for the rest of you- what music are you currently into? Let me know in the comments!

Hello all! Hope you’re having a lovely, relaxing weekend! I have to say, being a bit under the weather meant I was feeling the “lazy Sunday spirit” today, so I figured doing this tag (which effectively meant browsing aimlessly on pinterest for a few hours) was a perfect way to spend my time!

Thank you so much to the awesome Liam@Hey Ashers for tagging me to do this!! If you haven’t already you have to check out his blog- especially his hilarious snark reviews of Obsidian which not only are a real riot, but they’re saving me from ever having to read the book myself!!

  • Put your chosen images together into a collage of whatever size and shape you find pleasing.

Blogger Appreciation – Part 2

blogger appreciation award

Hello again! Welcome to Part 2 of my Blogger Appreciation- where I get to show my love for some (emphasis on the some and sadly not all) of my favourite bloggers!

So for part one, I talked about all round blogs that I love. For part 2 I’d like to talk about some specific things I like about some people’s blogs. Let’s get to it! Here are some more brilliant bloggers for you to check out:

  1. Paperback Book Addicts– This blog is totally top notch! The reviews and tags are always great- but what I particularly want to draw attention to is Codie’s meme TV Tuesday- because if it’s something great to mix up your Tuesday posts
  2. Cookie Break– This blog is great- it’s a varied mixture of writing posts and reviews. I especially want to point out that Sarina Langer’s new book Rise of the Sparrows has come out recently and I have to say I really enjoyed it! I recommend you check it out- you can buy it here. I for one am really looking forward to the sequel
  3. Mystery Date With A Book– I had to include this on the list, because not only does Fernanda run a fantastic blog, but her shop on Etsy is particularly awesome!
  4. Captain’s Quarters– so many of you guys have excellent themes, but few embody it as much as Captain’s Quarters- everything on her blog is consistent and it’s always a lot of fun to read her witty ship-related puns!
  5.  Heartstring Eulogies– Sarah Doughty’s site is a really wonderful place to go for a bit of poetry and flash fiction- Sarah’s writing is consistently excellent and always beautiful- and she always manages to put something new up every day!
  6. Art and Soul– Claire’s blog is another one I absolutely love- I mean, it’s a blog basically centred around books and baking- what’s not to love?
  7. Rose Reads– unquestionably, this is one of the best places to go for a good discussion post- they are always so interesting, engaging and original. Her reviews are always fabulous too!!
  8. A Bibliophile’s Obsession– Zainab’s blog is a blend of reviews and memes and is always on point. It’s a great place to visit here on the blogosphere!
  9. The Galaxial World– gosh I love this blog- the reviews on this site are always of great quality, wit and humour. But don’t just take my word for it- check it out and you’ll see what I mean! I can’t recommend it highly enough!
  10. Jack Dowd’s Writing Blog– I thought I’d share one of the many newbies (well new for me) that I’ve just got into. This is a really interesting writing blog with some fascinating posts about bookish things- like fictional places you can visit and where authors got their inspiration.

And that’s all for now- for today I’m looking for bookish recommendations- what’s the first book that comes to your mind that you’d like to recommend to me?

LET’S ALL GO BANANAS- I made it to my one year Bloggiversary! Blogger Recognition Award #2

So this is my second time doing a Blogger Recognition Award, but I thought it was an appropriate time to do another one because I MADE IT TO MY ONE YEAR BLOGGIVERSARY!! Happy Bloggiversary to ME! GO BANANAS!!

I was tagged by four wonderful bloggers:

The spectacular Cinderzena (how cool is that name!?!), the wonderful Bookish Underdog (because who doesn’t root for the underdog?), the marvellous Keira @ Signing On (because simplicity is key!) and the fabulous It’s Good To Be Crazy Sometimes (which is a sentiment I naturally agree with)

  1. Select 15 other blogs you want to give the award to. Do some digging if you must! Find those blogs. You cannot nominate yourself or the person who has nominated you.
  2. Write a post to show off your award! Give a brief story of how your blog got started, and give a piece or two of advice to new bloggers. Thank whoever nominated you, and provide a link to their blog. List who you’ve nominated in the post.
  3. Make sure to also attach the award itself! (You can do this by right-clicking, saving, and uploading the image above).
  4. Comment on each blog and let them know you’ve nominated them. Provide a link to the award post you created.
  5. Provide a link to the original post on Edge of Night. That way, anyone can find the original guidelines and post if needed, and we can keep it from mutating and becoming confusing!

I’ve already said part of the story about how this blog came into being the last time I did this post- which you can read all about here– but the story didn’t end there. So I thought now was the perfect time to tell you a little more about the humble beginnings of this blog.

In all honesty, this date completely crept up on me because even though I had the vaguest notion that I chose this domain name around May last year, I didn’t actually start posting then. I barely posted for the first five months (literally once or twice a month for most of that time). But then something magical happened…. I fell in love with it! I fell in love with the people, the reviewing, and making all kinds of content for you guys! I don’t know what point it was when it all just spiralled, but once I caught the bug there was no going back. What started out as a random hobby became a compulsion.

So the moral of the story is…

Keep at it! Do it at your own pace and for the love of it! That is my advice to new bloggers and old hats alike!

Hope you liked that- I tag:

The Shakespeare Awards

the shakespeare awards 2.jpg

Yes I know I am seriously late to this party- so late that the cake has probably gone stale and all the guests have already left- but how could I not celebrate William Shakespeare’s 452nd Birthday/400th Deathday??? (Okay, the second one’s a little weird- and technically that’s next week, but whatever)

Originally I was just gonna publish my faves and be done with it- but then I thought it would be fun if *everyone* joined in. And thus the Shakespeare Awards were born (*whoo silent cheer*). Basically, there are ten categories where you can vote for your favourite/least favourite Shakespeare play. I’ll count up all the votes and then post the results on here!

So here be the rules:

  1. If you would like to cast a vote, write it in the comments or in your own post (but make sure you link back to me (The Orangutan Librarian) or your vote won’t be counted!)
  2. You can answer for as many categories as you like but only one vote per category as many times as you like (yes I changed the rules cos I’m a rule breaker).
  3. The arbitrary closing date I have picked is Monday 9th of May

And that’s it! Here are the categories, with my votes for each of them:

most tragic1. King Lear– because it is the only one to have ever made me cry- I watched McKellen’s magnificent performance online somewhere and was a wreck afterwards!

best comedy

2. Midsummer’s Night’s Dreamcos it’s got a bit of an edge to it- plus who doesn’t love (semi-evil) fairies?

most romantic shakespeare

3. Romeo and Julietyes it’s a cliché, but it’s a cliché for a reason. Plus it’s got a bit of misdirection going on, because it starts out in the comic fashion and then subverts everything into a tragedy.

most entertaining4. Macbeth– c’mon- this one gave us the three witches- it’s a no brainer. And it’s got some fun/freaky superstitions around it for actors.

best history

5. Richard III– for a long time this was just my outright favourite play- it’s so twisted (like Richard III’s spine- yes I just went there)

best sonnet.png

6. Like as the waves… Just cos.

best film adaptation

7. Al Pacino’s Merchant– I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with this play- but Pacino makes everything, even a play as problematic as this, better.

most beautiful language

8. Richard II– cos that Hollow Crown speech is insane

9. Measure for Measure– the plot in this one makes no sense, the characters are mad and the genre flip flops back and forth! It’s safe to say this is one of the weirdest plays ever written.

most unpopular

10. Tempest– okay, okay, this one isn’t technically the most unpopular- and I suspect it’s a lot of people’s favourite- but I have just *never* liked this play. Someone I met once summarised this as: Prospero says “look at me, I can do magic… but I won’t”. (When I told an English teacher that they were horrified- but I still think it’s terribly accurate).

Alright- hope you enjoyed that- and now, *drumroll please*, over to you!
